NW Charlotte Bank Robbery

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police and the FBI are investigating two incidents which happened Wednesday morning and appear to be related. A purse snatching was reported at the Wachovia on Hovis Road in Northwest Charlotte. The victim told police two black men stole her purse. She said the suspects had bandanas covering their faces. They were wearing either white shirts and black pants, or all white pant suits.

A short time later, someone robbed the Wachovia located at
1500 Westinghouse Boulevard. Police said the suspects in this robbery were also described as two armed black men who were wearing white pants and bandanas. A third man drove the get-away vehicle.In both incidents, witnesses reported the suspects left in a teal-colored van. Police later found the vehicle abandoned on Wilmore Drive in Southwest Charlotte. The woman’s purse was found in the van as well. While there are similarities in both cases, police have not said if the two incidents are connected.
