Union County Robbery

Three arrests were made for a robbery that police say occurred early today in Union County, NC. Three people were charged, including two teens. A Mineral Springs, NC man told the Union County Sheriff's Office that he was robbed at gunpoint in his Pleasant Grove Road home, authorities said and he gave the police a description of the suspects.

Soon afterward, a deputy saw three people fitting the description at a nearby gas station. After an investigation, the sheriff's office said, the three were arrested. A gun believed to have been used in the robbery, which had been stolen during another home break-in two days earlier, was recovered, deputies said.

Brian Broome, 30, Joshua Newton, 16, Henry Chavis, 16, all of Monroe, were arrested on charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon, second degree kidnapping, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of cocaine. Chavis was also charged with resisting a public officer and possession of marijuana. Source: The Charlotte Observer
