1 Dead & 1 Injured in Robbery Attempt

Two teenage boys on a robbery spree in East Charlotte shot two men on Saturday night. Jose Guadalupe Martinez-Rojas, 17, was shot in the chest while walking home Saturday night on Audrey Street. Rojas died in the hospital on Sunday morning.

Minutes after Rojas was shot, two teens shot and wounded Jorge Lopez just one block away on
Jennie Linn Drive. Lopez was wounded in the leg and is expected to survive.

Police said both robbers are African American. One is approx. 16 years old, 5'5" tall, with a thin build. The other is 17-18 years old, 5'7' to 5'8" tall, with a thin build. Both wore dark clothing and both were carrying a gun similar to a rifle. Source: WSOC-TV
