Man Robs Business Owner & Crashes Car

Around 1am this morning, the victim and owner of Teddy's Pizza had just closed his business and was walking to his vehicle when he was robbed by a black male suspect armed with a handgun. After receiving money, the suspect fled in a black pickup truck.

While fleeing the scene the suspect, Roddrick Otis Bing, lost control of the vehicle and ran into a tree on Robinson Church Rd. Bing was thrown through the windshield sustaining facial injuries and was transported to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment. Bing was released this morning from CMC and interviewed by Detectives. He is currently incarcerated in the Mecklenburg County jail, charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.
