Weekend Crime Summary

Here are a few of the reported crimes that occurred over the weekend in Charlotte. More information @ Charlotte Crime Blotter.

SATURDAY:
11100 Beatties Ford Rd: James Preston Johnson, 49 was arrested on Saturday for hitting a motorcycle with his Jeep. He killed the 21 year old man on the motorcycle and took off. Police found him and charged him with hit & run, driving without a license and resisting a police officer.
426 Westinghouse Boulevard: The BP Food Mart was robbed by two black males who punched the clerk several times and stole items from the store. The suspects fled in a tan 4 door vehicle. The clerk sustained minor injuries.
3100 Queen City Drive: Two men, both armed with guns, entered the La Quinta Hotel and robbed the manager, two employees and took money from the business. The suspects fled in a grey Ford Taurus driven by a third black male.
7701 Antlers Lane: A delivery man for Pizza Hut was robbed by two teenage black males. The teens were armed with guns and took the pizza, the victim's property and fled on foot.

SUNDAY:
911 East Morehead Street: A man was in the parking lot of the 'Big Chill' when a black male approached him at gunpoint and took his money. The suspect fled in a 4 door light blue Ford pickup truck.
2120 Beatties Ford Rd: A woman was at an ATM when a black male pointed a gun at her and demanded money. The victim drove off with the suspect holding onto her van. The victim made several jerking movements and the suspect fell off and fled. The victim lost control and drove into the Beauty Wise Supply Store. She was transported to CMC with non-life threatening injuries.
1427 Ventura Way: The victim was in his vehicle in the parking lot when two black males, one armed with a long gun, demanded money. The victim refused and was shot in the face. The suspects then fled in a white Ford SUV. The victim was taken to CMC and treated for a non-life threatening injury.
4130 Rozelles Ferry Rd: Two men armed with handguns robbed the Family Dollar Store. The two black male suspects fled the scene on foot.
6327 Albemarle Rd: (One hour after the first Family Dollar Robbery) A black male armed with a handgun robbed the Family Dollar Store. The suspect fled the scene on foot. Police have not confirmed if the Family Dollar robberies are connected
811 Sharview Circle: Two men (1 armed with a handgun and 1 armed with a shotgun) attempted to rob the victim. The suspects fled on foot without taking anything from the victim. Officers were also dispatched to a residence on Glenrock Dr. involving the same suspects when they attempted to rob the occupants of that residence.
