CMPD Negotiator Coaxes Woman from Home

Late Thursday night, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police responded to Cedarbark Drive in response to a 911 call about a domestic violence situation. According to police, a man and woman got into an argument when the man was shot at numerous times by 35-year old Daoloy Sorlaesith Bevington. (R) Thankfully, the woman had bad aim and the man was not injured.

When police arrived, the woman refused to come to the door. CMPD deployed the SWAT team and a negotiator contacted the woman by phone. Prior to SWAT arriving, the negotiator was able to coax the woman out of the home.

Bevington was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and resisting a police officer. She is currently in the Mecklenburg County jail.
