Woman Stabbed in Neck -- Suspect Arrested

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested DeMarcus Lamont Brodie (R) after he walked into a restaurant and stabbed a women in the neck last night. The attack occurred at the Center City Marriott, located at 100 W. Trade Street.

Police say witnesses observed Brodie wandering around the restaurant nervously before he walked up to a waitress and slit the left side of her throat with a small knife. "It’s a very serious wound and right now it looks like it just barely missed the artery on the left side,” said a CMPD Sergeant.

Brodie is in the Mecklenburg County Jail with a $200,000 bond.
