Mother on Drugs Collides with 8 Cars Bringing Kids to School

Police say Nekita Renee Brooks, 24, was high on prescription drugs on Friday morning when she was driving her children to Sedgefield Elementary school. They say she drove six miles and collided with eight different cars.

A concerned citizen followed her minivan until police were able to locate and stop her. By the time Brooks was stopped by police, she had lost a tire and was driving on metal... Brooks had three children in the vehicle at the time of her arrest. The youngest child was 3 years old.

Brooks is charged with child neglect, driving while impaired and driving with a revoked license. This is Brooks' 6th arrest since May 2006. Her prior offenses include; selling marijuana, disorderly conduct, resisting a police officer and probation violations.
