A few minutes before 5:00 pm, a lone black male robbed the Bank of America branch, located at 9700 Monroe Road. Police say the man entered the bank and approached one of the bank tellers. He grabbed an undisclosed amount of currency from the teller area and ran out of the bank.
The suspect was last observed running from the bank on Monroe Road in the direction of Sardis Road North. No weapon was observed or displayed during the robbery and there were no injuries.
The suspect is described as a black male with medium-brown skin tone, approximately 6'0" to 6'1" in height, thin build, 40's in age, with a beard and moustache. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a dark-colored Panthers cap, a dark-gray shirt, and a black jacket.Investigators from the FBI Charlotte Safe Streets Task Force and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the robbery and are investigating this matter.
