Yesterday afternoon, a couple in their 80's were robbed and attacked inside their home on Tuckaseegee Road.Police say two black males armed with a metal pipe forced their way into the victim's residence shortly after 4:00 pm. The men knocked on the door and pretended to ask for directions to lure the couple to the door.
According to a WCNC news report, the couple (Ages 85 and 82) suffered a brutal attack once they opened the door. The husband was pulled down the stairs and thrown down on the concrete with the suspects knee in his back. As his wife came to his aid, the other robber forced her into the kitchen, knocked her down and told her he would kill her if she moved.
The male victim was marched back into the home and one of the suspects him him over the head with a metal pipe which required stitches. He also suffered a hand injury. Both victims were transported to the hospital and are recovering at home.
