Shortly before midnight, a taxi driver was robbed at gunpoint on Amberly Lane.According to the CMPD Significant Event Log, 'the driver reported being robbed at gunpoint by a black male and black female. His taxi was stolen but recovered a short distance away. No injuries.'
However, WCNC News reported the cab driver, Willie Cross, is in intensive care after being severely beaten during the robbery! WCNC said Cross was robbed of $35, beaten and the two suspects stole his cab.
