Janessa Allen, 17, has been charged by police after reporting a false kidnapping incident on Wednesday morning.According to police, Ms. Allen told them she was kidnapped at knife point while waiting for her school bus at the Red Lobster on Albemarle Road. The 17-year-old said she was taken to Mallard Creek Road and Nevin Road where she broke free and called 911.
Police say the Garinger High School student lied about the incident.
Allen was charged with filing a false police report and misuse of 911. She received a $1,000 secured bond and is being held at the Mecklenburg County jail.
