CMPD Robbery Unit Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department signed warrants on Otis Howie and Melvin Luckey charging them with Robbery With a Deadly Weapon and Conspiracy for the October 8, 2010, robbery of the owner of the North Carolina License Plate Agency office located at 809 East Arrowood Road.
During the course of this investigation, CMPD Robbery Unit Detectives worked closely with detectives from the Monroe, NC Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
The Monroe Police Department arrested Mr. Howie and Mr. Luckey on November 10, 2010 in connection with a robbery and shooting at a NC License Plate Agency in Monroe, NC, which occurred on November 1, 2010.
Both men are currently in the custody of the Union County Sheriff’s Office. The warrants from the Charlotte cases will be served on them at the Union County Jail.
In addition, Mr. Luckey is also being charged with R/W/D/W and Conspiracy in the September 24, 2007 robbery of a NC License Plate Agency located at 4200 South Boulevard.
