Mecklenburg County spent $23,000 and hired a firm to interview 501 people who spent an average of 19 minutes on the phone asking them questions about crime and justice in Mecklenburg County.
Considering the fact that the CMPD is reporting lowered crime rates, it seems Charlotteans still seriously consider crime a problem in Charlotte and worry about crime in day-to-day life. Most of the respondents believe that crime has increased or stayed the same over the past 3 years.
