Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a report of an armed robbery at the SouthPark Mall parking deck Wednesday night.
Two women told police they were approached by a lone gunman around 9:45 p.m. while walking through the parking deck in the 4400 block of Sharon Road. The victims, both 25 years-old, said the gunman stole jewelry, credit cards, and car keys. The police report indicates the women were treated by Medic, but it is unclear how the apparent victims were injured.
The apparent crime, which allegedly happened 45 minutes after the mall closed for the day, is the first reported robbery at SouthPark since August, 2005. Police records show there were four assaults on mall property in the first six months of this year. Source: 6NEWS
