An overnight shooting at an East Charlotte Apartment complex left one man dead and another injured. Police say 17-year-old Derek Giles (left) died after he was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with a gun shot wound to the head.Police were called to Sharon Chase Drive just before midnight on Saturday. Witnesses say a group of people gathered just before a fight broke out. Giles was shot and killed and his cousin was shot in the leg. He was treated and released from the hospital.
