
"A child came to me and said that he had just heard that there might be a weapon," explained Nancy Bartles, principal of Independence High. Bartles said she and school resource officers searched the student's backpack and found the gun. "It was loaded," she said.
Mobley was taken into police custody and no one was injured. The teen is now charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a firearm.
