3 CMPD Officers Assaulted by Shooting Suspect

Last night, three CMPD Officers were assaulted by 29-year old Craig Leon Lowery (R) while attempting to take him into custody.

Police say the incident began when they were called to Parkway Avenue in reference to a woman shot in the leg. The shooter, Craig Lowery, remained at the scene until police arrived. When officers attempted to arrest Lowery, he resisted arrest and assaulted the officers before they used a taser to subdue him.

All three officers were treated at Presbyterian Hospital for cuts and possible broken bones. The female shooting victim was transported to CMC with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was also transported to the hospital as a precaution.
