Arrest made in B&E at Chapel of Christ the King

At 8 p.m., on August 16, 2010, two witnesses stated that they observed a suspect inside the kitchen area of their church. As one witness dialed 911 to report the incident, the suspect escaped by crawling out of a window and pushing his way past the second witness.

CMPD Eastway Division Officers responded to the scene and circulated the area; however, they were unable to locate the suspect in the area. An Eastway Division Burglary Detective was able to solve this case and sign warrants on Emmanuel Eugene Charles, on August 18, 2010.

Mr. Charles was already in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office for a larceny offense which he committed on August 17, 2010, at the Food Lion located at 3207 Eastway Drive. He is under a $5,000 bond for this B&E.
