Twenty-three (23) defendants pled guilty to felonies in Mecklenburg County Superior Court before The Honorable Eric L. Levinson, Superior Court Judge. The defendants entered their guilty pleas September 21, 2010-September 24, 2010. Twenty-one (21) of the twenty-three (23) defendants to enter a guilty plea were given active prison sentences; among them were:
Roy Alexander, Jr., 37, pled guilty to felony breaking or entering, felony breaking or entering a motor vehicle and felony larceny. Alexander was sentenced to 62-75 months in prison.
Steve Williams, 39, pled guilty to 1) felony breaking or entering and 2) being a habitual felon. Williams was sentenced to 87-114 months in prison.
Larohon Barnett, 46, pled guilty to 1) felony breaking or entering, 2) felony larceny, and 3) misdemeanor assault on a government official. Barnett was sentenced to 40-48 months in prison. (Barnett was arrested 15 times by CMPD in two years time)
Carlis Benton, 31, pled guilty to two counts of selling heroin. Benton was sentenced to 40-48 months in prison.
Joshua Brendle, 23, pled guilty to 1) felony larceny and 2) being a habitual felon. Brendle was sentenced to 58-79 months in prison.
Antoine McAfee, 38, pled guilty to 1) attempted trafficking in cocaine and 2) possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine. McAfee was sentenced to 27-33 months in prison.
Phyllis (Chisholm) Reddick, 45, pled guilty to 1) obtaining property by false pretense and 2) financial card theft. Reddick was sentenced to 30-36 months in prison. (Reddick has been in and out of jail since 1996 for committing fraud, stealing credit cards, identity theft, etc., all over NC. She'll be back!)
Larry Pelzer, 42, pled guilty to 1) felony breaking or entering, 2) felony larceny, and 3) being a habitual felon. Pelzer was sentenced to 87-114 months in prison.
Rodney Thomas, 43, pled guilty to 1) felony breaking or entering and 2) felony larceny. Thomas was sentenced to 25-30 months in prison.
