UPDATE: Zamario Delandro Blakeney and Lakeem Roamele Baker have been charged with the murder of Mr. Glenn.

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Unit and ADW Unit are conducting an investigation into a shooting near the 900 block of Ambassador Street in the Metro Division, which left one person deceased. The call for service was reported at 10:37 p.m., on November 24, 2011. The victim has been identified as Justin Glenn.
Metro Division officers responded to Ambassador Street to investigate the report of a person shot. When officers arrived on scene, they located a black male subject suffering from an apparent gunshot wound; he was pronounced deceased on scene. Based upon initial information, this is not a random act of violence. The victim and suspect were meeting to conduct a drug transaction, when a brief altercation occurred and the suspect fired a weapon striking the victim. All witnesses have been transported to the Law Enforcement Center to provide statements.
Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to process and collect physical evidence. The Vice & Narcotics Unit responded to the scene as well to aid in the investigation.
