Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for the suspect in an east Charlotte shooting that took place at about 2:15 Saturday morning.
According to authorities, the suspect shot two victims on Cental Avenue before they tried to flee in their car. As the pair tried to get away, they crashed into a median on Eastway Drive. They were then taken to a local hospital by another motorist.

Ambulance Driver Charged For EMT's Death
An emergency medical technician was charged with for the wreck that killed his co-worker, 43 year-old Belinda "Gale" Rivers on Tuesday morning.
The two EMT's work for Sandhills Ambulance Service, based in South Carolina. They had just taken a patient to Carolinas Medical Center and were en route back to SC when the driver, Jonathan Cory Brown, ran a red light. That caused the ambulance to collide with a tractor-trailer, killing Rivers, who was in the passenger seat.
The accident happened at about 11:00 Tuesday morning at the intersection of U.S. 74 and Venus Street in Union County. Brown was injured in the wreck, but it's not clear to what extent. He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center and is expected to recover.
Brown is charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle. He has a court date in Union County scheduled for December 6.

Mother Crashes into CATS Bus While on Drugs, Infant Son Ejected
According to CMPD, Meeyung Park was driving her 2001 Chrysler 300M north on South Tryon Street. At about 3:30 Friday afternoon, Park hit another car before running into a stopped CATS bus and then hitting the median. The accident occurred ner South Tryon's intersection with Kingman Drive, which is near I-77's interchange with Billy Graham Parkway.
During the accident, Park's son, Anthony Lucente, was ejected from the vehicle's back seat and sustained serious injuries. Lucente was in stable condition and is expected to recover. Along with Lucente, his mother and grandmother were transported to Carolinas Medical Center.
At the time of the crash, the CATS bus had seven passengers, one of which was taken to a local hospital. After an initial investigation, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police determined that the child was not property fastened in his car seat. Police also determined that drugs and speed were factors in the accident.
Park is being charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, two felony counts of serious injury by vehicle, a child restraint violation, and failure to reduce speed.

Thomasville Police Officer Crashes Cruiser into Local High School
In a strange twist of events, an officer with the Thomasville Police Department crashed his cruiser into an area high school at 29 miles per hour. The officer reported that he veered off-road to prevent hitting a dog that was in the way.
Though multiple surveillance videos show the accident, no dog appears on film. The officer behind the wheel of that crash is required to patrol on foot and perform desk duties until he finishes a low-speed driving course.

Possible Road Rage Leads to Hit-and-Run, Leaves 21 Year-Old in Critical Condition
The daughter of an Indian Trail councilwoman is in critical condition after a hit-and-run accident on Wednesday that NC Troopers say may have been the result of road rage.
Twenty-one year-old Christina Morris was spun off the road after an SUV clipped her car at about 2:00 Wednesday afternoon. The wreck happened as Morris attempted to make a pass in the right lane of I-485 near Providence Road.
The SUV that wrecked Morris continued traveling down the I-485 Inner Loop and never stopped. Christina's mother is Indian Trail Councilwoman Darlene Morris Luther. Morris is listed in critical condition with collapsed lungs and broken bones.

Hit-and-Run Accident Leaves Charlotte Pedestrian in Hospital
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that left a pedestrian in the hospital. The accident took place at about 3:00 Sunday morning on Marlowe Avenue.
The victim's name has not been released, and police say they have no description of the vehicle involved.

Woman Crashes into Parked CMPD Cruiser
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested a woman after she hit one of their cruisers with her car Wednesday morning.
According to authorities, a CMPD officer was assisting a pedestrian that appeared to be intoxicated and was in the middle of Eastway Drive near its intersection with the Plaza. That's where the police officer parked his cruiser, which the woman hit before slamming into a utility pole.
Police say no one was injured in the accident, but have not released the charged to be filed against the driver of the car.

Raleigh Man Killed in Gaston County Car Crash
A Gaston County car accident claimed the life of 29 year-old Michael Roberts Saturday in the early morning hours. Roberts, a native of Raleigh, was driving his Kia Optima on Chapel Grove School Road when he went off the right side of the road. The accident ejected Roberts, who hit a tree and was pronounced dead at the scene when medics arrived.
Gaston County police and GEMS paramedics responded to the accident after it was reported to Crowders Mountain Fire and Rescue shortly after 3:30 Saturday morning. North Carolina State Troopers reported that alcohol and excessive speed may have been a factor in the crash. The section of road where Roberts crashed is a 45 mph zone.
Authorities have not yet been able to determine Roberts' connection to Gaston County or where he was going at the time of the accident.

Bratton was struck by a 2004 Nissan Altima shortly before 10:00. The vehicle was driven by a 62 year-old woman whose name has not been released. According to police, neither alcohol nor excessive speed were factors in the accident, though Bratton was not crossing the street when he was struck.
Saturday's accident makes the 18th pedestrian death in Charlotte this year. If trends continue, that number will surpass the 24 pedestrian fatalities in 2011.
This incident is still under investigation. Authorities have asked anyone with information on this case to call Charlotte-Mecklenburg police at (704) 432-2169.

2 Injured After Premeditated I-485 Drag Race
Two people are injured and one arrested after a premeditated drag race led to a crash on I-485 last night. The vehicles involved were a white Mercedes-Benz and a minivan.
According to the N.C. Highway Patrol, the vehicles were traveling approximately 120 miles per hour when one of them, a minivan, flipped and caught on fire. Luckily, neither the driver nor the passenger or the minivan was seriously injured.
The minivan crashed on the ramp that runs from I-485's inner loop to the northbound lane of I-77. Authorities say the race stemmed from an argument at Ballantyne's Fox and Hound bar about which of the two vehicles was faster.
A N.C. State Trooper was assisting a motorist on the outer loop of I-485 when he saw the vehicles racing down the opposite lane of the interstate. That trooper found the wrecked minivan when he attempted to pursue the race. Eyewitness reports say that the minivan exploded on impact, creating a large fireball.
The minivan's driver faces charges including pre-arranged speed competition, travelling over 100 miles an hour in a 65 mile an hour zone, and driving while intoxicated. The other vehicle was not affected by the crash and never stopped.
