Police responded to two overnight shootings this weekend. The first happened just after 12:30 a.m. in the 2900 block of Baltimore Avenue. Police said the shots were fired after a disagreement at a party. One person was shot and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. That person needed surgery.
Police have a suspect in custody, but so far no charges have been filed.
Shots were also fired at a parking lot outside the Calypso Club on North Tryon. Cops said it started with an argument. One person took a bullet in the leg. A security officer used pepper spray on a second person. Nobody had been arrested yet in that shooting.
