  • Robbery - 15.2% Increase
  • Rape -  4.0% Increase 
  • Arson - 0.8% Decrease
  • Vehicle Theft - .01% Decrease
  • Larceny 
    • Total - 7.5% Increase
    • Auto - 1.1% Increase
  • Burglary
    • Total - 8.4% Decrease
    • Residential - 6.5% Decrease
    • Commercial - 13.2% Decrease
  • Aggravated Assault - 11.7% Increase

About CMPD

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have divided Charlotte into 13 districts, varying in size.  The number of assigned officers also varies between districts.  CMPD is comprised of around 1,717 sworn officers, over 564 civilian staff, and over 400 volunteers. The department not only patrols the city limits, but also enforces the unincorporated communities of Mecklenburg County.
