Attempted Kidnapping

Police are reporting that a young girl said a man tried to kidnap her while she was walking home from school around 6:30 p.m. Monday. Authorities said it happened on Prett Court, near the intersection of Folger Drive, off Providence Road in south Charlotte.

WSOC-TV reported,
"According to police, a 12-year-old girl walking home from school was approached by a Hispanic man in a black vehicle who kept telling her to get into his vehicle. "She was walking home towards her house and a vehicle stops in the middle of the street and (says,) 'Hey, do you want to get in my car?' Then, the car took off," said Roseanne Detomasso, of Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

Police say the man never attempted to grab the girl, and he did not get out of his vehicle. The girl describes the man who approached her as Hispanic, bald with facial hair, in his 20s and driving some kind of black vehicle.
