Police arrest rape suspect

On February 22nd, a woman reported that a man broke into her home, hancuffed her and raped her. The woman lived in the Chantilly neighborhood just off Seventh Street. Her cell phone and purse were also stolen in the attack.

Today, police arrested Michael Robinson, 36 and charged him with two counts of second-degree rape, one count of second-degree sex offense, first-degree burglary, common law robbery and kidnapping. Robinson is in the Mecklenburg County jail under $300,000 bond.
