Family members of a slain store clerk are inviting loyal customers who knew him to attend the funeral. Raj Premani worked at the Circle K on Providence Road for four years and became friends with many patrons.
Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service is handling the arrangements. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Dilworth Chapel on the 1100th block of East Boulevard.

Also, police say the burned-out car that discovered Tuesday morning is not connected to the convenience store homicide case.

Several hours later police were called out to investigate a car that was found on fire on Whistling Swan Road off Steele Creek Road. Detectives said there are similarities between the car found and the car related to the murder investigation at the Circle K. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 704-334-1600.
