Police are warning residents to be on the look out for a man who is believed to have raped two women in Charlotte. DNA collected from the two crime scenes linked the suspect to both incidents.The attacks happened in northwest Charlotte during 2005. One incident was on Parkside Drive (L) in August and the other incident was on Dakota Street (R) in November.
In both cases, the victims were taken to another location and raped. The first victim was abducted from a bus stop at knifepoint. The second victim got in the car when offered a ride.Police describe the suspect as a white man in his mid to late 20's. He is about 5'6" to 5'8" tall and has a stocky build. The suspect has brown hair and, possibly, a mustache and goatee.
They think he is familiar with the neighborhood. In the past month, he has been seen driving a burgundy mini van with wood grain paneling.If you know anything that can help in this investigation, call Crimestoppers at 704-334-1600.
