Police are trying to determine what happened after a man was shot to death at a north Charlotte gas station. The victim's girlfriend said two men drove up in a truck and started shooting while her boyfriend, Joseph Daniel Coley, was pumping gas. It happened just before midnight Friday at the Sam's Mart on West Sugar Creek Road.
The store is back open after it was shut down for several hours while police and detectives searched the scene and conducted their investigation.
According to a witness and the victim's girlfriend, the man was shot while filling his car at a gas pump. They said two men in a truck pulled up and fired at the victim several times.
