Soccer Store Robbed at Gunpoint

A local soccer store was robbed at gunpoint this afternoon.
A man walked into Soccer Unlimited on
Montford Drive in south Charlotte around 3:45 pm. A black man pulled a gun and demanded money.

WSOC-TV spoke with customer Francisco Perez said this time of year might be inviting for criminals. "Somebody might think that because the World Cup is going on, more business is coming in this time of year," said Perez.

Police thought the same man might have also robbed a woman on Park Road. The victim was about to cross Park when the suspect grabbed her purse, forcing her to fall into the street.

** Police are looking for a 17-year-old black teen, about 5'7" with cornrows. They said he was last seen wearing a white shirt, black pants and a Yankees baseball cap. He was seen getting into a faded blue Toyota Camry. If you have any information, call Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
