Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have a pair of Pizza Hut armed robberies to investigate this morning. The two crimes happened within a 22-minute span, on opposite sides of Charlotte, NC.
The first was reported at 11:19 p.m., in the 6400 block of Rea Road in southeast Charlotte. Police say three suspects, two armed with guns, forced a pizza delivery driver in the parking lot to walk back into the restaurant, at gunpoint. Once inside, the suspects forced employees to take money from the safe. Employees said they saw the suspects run away from the restaurant. No injuries were reported.
At 11:41 p.m., in the 3200 block of Freedom Drive in west Charlotte, two suspects entered the restaurant and robbed employees. One suspect was armed with a knife, and the other had pepper spray. The two suspects fled through the rear door and were seen running away. Again, no injuries were reported.
