Drive-Thru Robbed

Around 2 am this morning, two men robbed the Jack in the Box restaurant through the drive thru window. The Jack in the Box is located on the 10000 block of Tryon Street. The restaurant is normally locked up at night so employees usually feel safe working the drive thru window.

Monday around 2 a.m. a black Expedition came into the drive thru. They ordered a sandwich, paid for it and almost left without getting their food, according to employees. Employees said the passenger got out of the car, pulled his shirt up over his face and crawled into the drive thru window with a gun. Once inside he demanded money and pointed a gun at employees. They said they were especially worried about the robbery because the two robbers were very nervous. Witnesses said the man with the gun was shaking uncontrollably.

An employee said it wasn't the driver's first trip to the drive thru that evening. He had come through two hours before the robbery. Employees said the suspects only got away with about $27. Witnesses are not sure which way the robbers went, but they said they were driving a newer model, black Expedition.

Police are asking anyone who knows anything about this case to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. Source: 6NEWS
