Food Lion Robbed on The Plaza

Three men walked into the Food Lion on The Plaza around 8 am this morning and demanded money from employees at the customer service counter. The robbery occurred one hour after the Food Lion opened. Investigators were on the scene for several hours searching for evidence.

Eyewitness News learned that a bold store manager tried to catch the robbers after they left the store. That manager chased after their green Windstar, but was unable to catch up to the suspects. Police later found the Winstar, and tell us that it was reported stolen. Police now believe that the suspects switched into a grey Ford Expedition or Explorer. The suspects are described as three black males wearing bandanas and baggy clothes. Anyone with information is asked to call Charlotte CrimeStoppers at (704) 334-1600. Source: WSOC-TV
