High Speed Chase Suspect Caught

Darryl Marcus Allison (R) a 20-year old Charlotte, NC man is behind bars after leading authorities on a high-speed chase across two states. Officers attempted to pull Darryl Marcus Allison over on Thursday evening in York County, SC, for a minor traffic violation.

Allison sped off in his rented mini-van onto Interstate 77, leading police into Mecklenburg County. Highway patrol and York County, SC sheriff's deputies chased Allison onto the Billy Graham Parkway, Interstate 85, Brookshire Boulevard and Hoskins Road. At times the pursuit reached speeds in excess of 80 miles per hour.

Police say at one point Allison tossed a bag of crack cocaine out the window. The chase ended outside the suspect's northwest Charlotte home on Brookway Drive, where he was arrested.

Allison is being held at the Mecklenburg County jail. He faces list of charges including drug trafficking, fleeing from officers and driving on a revoked license. Allison has been arrested 10 times in the past 3 years, according to CMPD Arrest Records.
