Edward Powers, 32 (Right) is behind bars after allegedly attempting to kidnap a child last night. Powers tried to lure a child out of Church’s Chicken restaurant on West Trade Street. When the child refused, police say Powers took the juvenile by the hand and tried to lead him outside.The child's father caught up to them and called police. The suspect was later arrested and charged with second-degree kidnapping and possession of drug paraphernalia. Powers remains jailed on a $300,000 bond.
