Update: Jerry Shelton has resigned from his duties as a Mint Hill Police Officer for "personal reasons." The chief has accepted his resignation.-
Jerry Shelton Jr., a Mint Hill, NC police officer was arrested for driving while impaired and hit and run charges around 9 pm last night.
Police say Shelton had a blood alcohol content of 0.17, more than twice the legal limit. Witnesses told police they saw Shelton hit two parked cars on Abigail Glen Drive and he kept driving. There is no word on what action Mint Hill police will take against Shelton. Source: News 14 Carolina
