5 teenagers were shot after a dispute broke out at a birthday party in the University area of Charlotte, NC. The victims ranged from 15-17 years old. The shooting happened just before midnight on Cardigan Avenue.
Police said around 12:00 Sunday morning, cars pulled up to the party on Cardigan Avenue and people started shooting into the crowd. “We saw some dudes from the woods and they started shooting up in the air and shooting at people,” said witness Davorius Briggs.
Police said two gunshot victims were taken to Carolinas Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, three more victims showed up at the hospital a short time later.
This is second time a house party on Cardigan Avenue got violent in the past two weeks. In August, police said a teen was asked to leave a party at the corner of Eastbrook Road and Cardigan Avenue.
Officials said the teen refused to leave and then pistol whipped another teen. Police are now saying that the two parties were not hosted by the same people, but tell us that many of the same people attended both parties.
Officials are not releasing the names of the victims in Sunday morning's shooting at this time, and they are still looking for the shooting suspects. Anyone with information can anonymously call crime stoppers at (704) 334-1600. Source: WSOC-TV
