John Mobley, a suspect caught breaking into a van was shot and killed by the owner early Monday morning. The incident occurred at the home of Lonnie Kirkley who resides at 4614 Locklyn Drive (off Hwy 75 near Waxhaw) in Union County, NC. According to the police report, the wife of Mr. Kirkley said she looked out their bedroom window and saw a man in her van with the interior light on. Mr. Kirkley went outside and was armed with his .357 caliber handgun. When John Mobley got out of the car Kirkley shot him- he collapsed and was found 40-feet from their home. Sheriff investigators are meeting with the District Attorney to determine whether if any criminal charges could be filed against Lonnie Kirkley. Source: WBTV
