Last night, a Guard One armed patrol man shot and killed a man during an attempted robbery. Officers were called to the Exxon station on Monroe Road near Briar Creek around midnight. The armed security officer shot the man as he attempted to rob the store, police said. The suspect ran out of the store and collapsed on Washburn Avenue where he died.

Two hours later, police were investigating another deadly shooting in North Charlotte. Police were called to the 4800 block of Henderson Circle where they found a man shot. He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center, but died a short time later from his injuries. A four-door white vehicle was seen leaving the area shortly after the shooting.
