Three suspects are on the run after firing a gun inside a northwest Charlotte bank during a robbery Thursday afternoon. The robbery happened around 2:45 p.m. at the BB&T Bank located at 1814 Oakdale Road.
One shot was fired inside the bank, but no one was injured. The FBI arrived at the scene and took the lead in the investigation. They are searching for two men and one woman. All three suspects were wearing all black and had masks over their faces. The robbers were carrying AK-47 assault rifles.
The Charlotte Division of the FBI has released some additional details in this press release. The suspects are alleged to have left in a Green, mid-1990's Dodge minivan with dealer tags. Investigators are releasing the attached still images from the bank surveillance tapes to help further identify the suspects.
