Tuesday night Shootings

CMPD Police are investigating two shootings that occurred in Charlotte tonight. The first occurred shortly after 5pm on Irma Street- which is located off LaSalle Street near Interstate 85. Police said the shooting victim is the father of a teenage boy who had a dispute with some people who opened fire at their house. The father was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The shooters apparently threw their weapons and some shotgun shells on the roadway as they left. Police have not made any arrests.

The second shooting occurred after 8 pm in the parking lot of Castlewood Apartments- located off Monroe Rd in east Charlotte. Police say the two teens were walking in the parking lot when a suspect shot both victims in the legs. One victim ran to the Wendy's Restaurant at East Independence Boulevard and Conference Drive. The other victim ran into the parking lot of BJ's Warehouse. Medic took both teens Carolinas Medical Center. Their injuries were not life-threatening. Police do not have any information about the shooter.
