On Friday night, CMPD searched a neighborhood off Robinson Church Rd. for hours after a male suspect shot his girlfriend on Idlewild Rd and fled the scene in a vehicle. A short pursuit ensued and the suspect crashed his vehicle and ran into the woods. The suspect is still at large.
Police say the incident started when the suspect and his girlfriend were in the car arguing on Idlewild Rd. The woman jumped out of the car and the man got out, ran after her and shot her.
The woman was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. Photographer Jonathan Jones was on the scene and captured the shown pictures of the suspect's crashed car.
