Dennis Gross, 64, was arrested last Friday at the Rose Vine Place Apartments. He is charged with maintaining a dwelling to keep cocaine, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the search warrant, police visited Gross' apartment located at 4511 Rose Vine Place in response to a Crime Stoppers tip. Dennis Gross allowed the officer to enter the apartment to discuss the drug complaint.
When the officer entered the apartment, he immediately saw a clear plastic baggie containing a white powder substance. He then observed plastic sandwich bags with the bottom corners cut off. This is typically how drug dealers package the 'goods' for sale.
The officer asked Gross if he could search his apartment and he denied consent. Police secured the apartment; including Gross and a woman present in the apartment, named Vicki Hunter. Police obtained a search warrant to search the apartment. Gross was arrested.
Dennis Gross does not have any prior drug charges. He was arrested twice for driving under the influence. Once in 2000 and again in 2001. He was given probation.
