Early Saturday morning, CMPD was called to the 5100 block of Cherrycrest Lane in reference to someone shot. Police located Gerson Aguilar in the parking lot suffering from at least two gunshot wounds. He was transported to CMC with life threatening injuries and later died.Police say the shooter in this incident was coming to the aid of a female friend that was involved in a domestic dispute with her ex-boyfriend. Gerson Aguilar, the brother of the ex-boyfriend, began assaulting the man that was trying to help the female. The altercation escalated, resulting in Aguilar getting shot.
Police say the case will ultimately be presented to the District Attorney's Office to decide if charges will be filed.
