Dilworth's Serial Arsonist Sentenced

Last June, Susan Elaine Davidson (R) was charged with multiple counts of arson after she set numerous fires in the Dilworth area of Charlotte. Using forensics, investigators were able to connect and charge Davidson for four of the fires, however, they believe she is responsible for several more.

Davidson terrorized the residents of the Dilworth community for six months. She set fires outside homes in the middle of the night- using items from her home, such as cooking grease and paper towels. Davidson's fires damaged several homes and left residents awake at night- praying they wouldn't be the next target of the serial arsonist.

Susan Davidson was charged with two counts of first degree arson, burning of uninhabited structures and setting fire to grass/brush land. Earlier this year, she struck a plea deal with prosecutors. Davidson escaped jail time and received 36 months (3 years) of supervised probation. In addition, she is banned from stepping foot in the Dilworth area.
