On Friday night, police were called to the Sandalwood Apartments on Snow Lane in reference to a man beaten and stabbed. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.Police say the attack was gang related and the Gang Task Force investigated the incident. Early Saturday morning, police arrested Fernando Elvin Delgado, 25, and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon.
Delgado is in the Mecklenburg County Jail being held by ICE officials until they are able to verify his immigration status.
