Yesterday morning, Stevan Lamar Sowell Jr. was shot and killed at the Charlotte Fast Mart convenience store, located at 1421 Tom Hunter Rd. According to police, Sowell was shot when he entered the convenience store, indicated he had a gun and demanded money.The employee at the convenience store confronted the alleged robber and fired one shot as the robber lunged towards them at the counter. Sowell was located inside the front doorway of the convenience store and was pronounced deceased by Medic on location.
This case will be presented to the District Attorney's Office to decide if any charges should be filed.
