Saturday: Crime Report

CMPD released the following crime incidents that occurred in Charlotte on Saturday, July 21st. Check back on Monday for the full weekend crime report.
  • DWI checkpoint at Central Avenue & Rosehaven Drive Results: 7 DWI's, 34 NOL's, 15 DWLR's, 3 open container violations and 21 other violations. A total of 80 citations.
  • 12:19 am: 1703 Parson Street: A victim was grazed by a bullet and transported for treatment to CMC Main.
  • 1:11 am: Gibbon Road & Nevin Road: Vehicle pursuit of a possible robbery suspect. The suspect vehicle was not located.
  • 3:38 am: 13209 Carowinds Boulevard: Gas & Go Shell Station. The victim (clerk) reported that a black male suspect attempted to rob the gas station.
  • 4:10 am: 9424 S. Tryon Street: Business robbery at the Petro Express. A black male suspect fled the scene on foot.
  • 4:54 am: : 3522 Driftwood Dr: A male victim was stabbed in the stomach and transported to CMC-Main with serious injuries. The victim reported that he was robbed.
  • 4:45pm: 2724 Watson Drive: A male victim was shot. He was transported CMC in critical condition. The suspects are described as several black males in a white Ford Crown Victoria. They were last seen headed toward Remount Road. Homicide detectives are conducting an investigation.
  • 7:00 pm: A 5-month old boy was brought to CMC-University with bruises and internal injuries. He was transferred to CMC-Main and is currently in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in critical condition. The CMPD Juvenile Victims Unit and Homicide are investigating.
  • 8:00 pm: Pence Road & Viola Dr: Four suspects ran from a stolen Honda Accord. Two of the juvenile passengers were taken into custody after a foot chase. The driver and another passenger were not located.
  • 8:15 pm: 8615 Nations Ford Road: A juvenile victim was stabbed by unknown suspects and transported to CMC with non-life threatening injuries. The victim is refusing to cooperate with officers and provide any information on the suspects.
