Three Shootings: Six Injured

Last night, police investigated two separate shootings which landed four people in the hospital. Two of the four shooting victims sustained life-threatening injuries and may not survive.

The first shooting occurred in the 600 block of Malcolm Lane. Police say two Hispanic men tried to take matters into their own hands and followed two black males who they believed robbed them earlier in the day.

The two suspected robbers realized they were being followed, stopped their vehicle and got out of the vehicle and shot the two Hispanic males and sped away. The two victims were transported to Carolinas Medical Center, one with life-threatening injuries. Police say they searched the area after the shooting- using the police helicopter and K-9 unit, but they were unable to capture the two suspects.
