Friday Night Robberies & Shootings

The thugs of Charlotte kept CMPD busy last night. Overall, 9 armed robberies from person and 4 armed robberies from business were reported. In addition, two shootings were reported. Here are some of the highlights:

8:44 pm: Pino Pizza, located at 7200 Albemarle Road was robbed. Police say a juvenile black male suspect entered the business with a gun (black revolver) and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot with cash.

9:02 pm: A person was robbed at gunpoint by two black males at 3606 Frew Road. Police say two black male suspects pulled up in a four-door green vehicle. One of the suspects got out and demanded cash from the victim. When the victim refused, both men beat the victim with a gun. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

9:03 pm: Teddy's Pizza, located at 5820 E. WT Harris Blvd was robbed at gunpoint. Police say a black male with dreads entered the business armed with a hand gun and demanded cash. He fled on foot.

11:32 pm: Starbucks Coffee, located at 545 Providence Road was robbed at gunpoint. Police say a Hispanic male wearing a ski mask entered the business and demanded cash. He fled on foot.

12:43 am: Creek Lounge, located at 9007 Monroe Road was robbed at gunpoint by three black males. Police say the three suspects entered the bar and demanded cash from the business and three patrons. The three suspects fled on foot.

3:50 am: A person was struck in the head and robbed at 300 W. Tremont Ave. Police say a white male approached the victim, struck him in the head with an unknown object and robbed him. The suspect fled on foot.

1:23 am: A 17-year old male was walking home when he was shot in the shoulder at 7500 S. Tryon St. Police say the victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

2:08 am: A person was shot multiple times at 2521 Cross Point Circle. (Cross Creek Apartments) Police say the victim was driven to another location after the shooting and called police. He was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
